'Ria and Ryan' was an idea created by Sarah Ricketts for her final year of study. Ria and Ryan is an award winning cartoon which has always been about sibling interaction, demonstrating that a child's imagination is something that should be embraced and encouraged. It is simply yet essentially a classic children’s show, where a Brother and Sister engross themselves in their playtime activities influenced by what they have read or watched on television. The props are as they are because they represent the toys Ria and Ryan have and made themselves out of cardboard and sticky back plastic, and they are bigger as the children are role-playing in the world that they have imagined. This principal concept of Ria and Ryan has remained consistent throughout the show’s early development.
